My name is Jay Valena and I’m a musician, composer, photographer, and pharmacist. I graduated from UCLA with a double major in Neuroscience and Scandinavian Languages & Cultures, and later earned my PharmD from UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
I’m the founder and driving force behind Oskoreien, a musical project I’ve been developing since 2003. My music has been featured by publications like Invisible Oranges, Metal Injection, and VICE/Noisey.
As a professional photographer, I specialize in live music and red carpets. My images have appeared in Time, Rolling Stone, Esquire, People, GQ, and Entertainment Weekly, among others.
